Abolish 239 years old Monarchy in Nepal

Nepal’s political parties voted for a special assembly on Wednesday to abolish the Himalayan Kingdom’s around 239 years old Hindu Monarchy. 560 voted in favor of abolishing the Monarchy.
The government has told unpopular King Gyanendra to vacate his pink pagoda-roofed palace in the capital Kathmandu within a fortnight, or be forced out. He gave some comments on his future plans and said he wanted to remain in Nepal.
Police said that some activists of the royalist militant group Ranbir Sena threw pamphlets on the blast site, demanding that Nepal remain a Hindu Kingdom. Two bomb exploded only a difference of some meters from the venue for the Assembly while another went off in a city park.
Thousands of Nepalis gathered in the historic parts of Kathmandu and near the site of Assembly to celebrate the end of a Manarchy. Thousands of Maoists, now the member of Assembly and the biggest political party after joining the political mainstream, moved in the capital carrying hammer and flags in the air as they shouted “ Down with the Monarchyâ€
Now, his portrait has been wiped off from bank notes and his name has disappeared from the national anthem. They are giving 15 days to leave the place and also palace.
Although some royalists may oppose the move, they are heavily outnumbered by mainstream political groups and Maoist former rebels, who emerged as the largest party in elections to the 601-member Assembly.
