Tata open to Fiat selling Nano

Ratan Tata said that Tata Motors Ltd is open to Italy’s Fiat Spa helping to sell the ultra-cheap Nano model overseas.

Tata, India’s third-biggest car maker, plans to launch the Nano later this year, priced at about USD 2,500.

He said, “We have held talks about the Nano being marketed in markets where Fiat has already a strong presence. I am open to consider a partnership,”

Fiat has a joint venture with Tata to manufacture and distribute cars, engines and commercial vehicles.

US will do ‘whatever it can’ for Indo-US deal

The United States has said it was committed to Indo-US nuclear deal and if New Delhi moves forward, Washington will do ”whatever it can” to fulfill its commitments.

Sean McCormack State Spokesman said, ”The position of the United States government is, we are committed to this (Indo-US nuclear) deal,”

He said, ”If the Indian government completes the discussions it has been having about moving forward on a variety of different fronts regarding this deal, the United States government has committed to doing whatever it can to fulfill its commitments here domestically,”

Daimler plans to roll out a Mercedes-Benz model that runs on electricity in 2010. Chief executive of company said that we are planning an electric Smart and Mercedes electric model for 2010.Company already has in London a fleet of 100 first-generation Smart cars that run on electricity.

No decision has been made regarding the price for the electric models as General Motors Corp, which has promised to launch a Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric car in 2010 for $30,000.

Honda launches first Hybrid car in India

Civic Hybrid, the first hybrid car in India, is launched by Honda, a Japanese car Company to protect the environment. This car gets powered by 1.3 litre petrol engine and an electric motor with 47 % enhanced fuel efficiency.

CEO and Honda Siel Car India president said that it is another step in the great success of Honda in India with our long term goal of bringing eco friendly vehicles. He said, “The Company is giving an opportunity of taking the benefit of technology to customers .This statement is given by Honda for protecting the environment.

Emerging economies slam new US farm bill at WTO

India, Brazil, and other developing countries said that the new US farm bill will be hindrance to global trade talks determined at raising millions worldwide out of poverty.

A group of 20 developing nations also including China, Mexico and Argentina echoed criticism by WTO chief Pascal Lamy, who last week said the new US farm bill showed a wrong signal to the world while talks on a new global trade deal were going on.

The emerging countries said the “new bill looks agriculture policies in the wrong direction at a decisive juncture of the WTO Doha Round,” referred to the trade talks.

A bomb blast outside the Danish Embassy in Islamabad (Pakistan). It’s one of the most high security areas. As per report 8 people dead and more than 30 people were injured.

The blast wrecked several buildings and dozens of cars, indicating that the bomb had been fitted to a vehicle. Explosive experts were unable to say whether the bomb was the remote controlled, or time bomb or a suicide bomber.

Police arrested two men regard the bomb blast. An embassy worker was among the dead and three were hurt. After this bomb blast, Denmark and Norway closed their embassy. Continue reading…

In China, the search for a relief military helicopter continued. As per report till Monday, the helicopter was still missing and no one has been found yet. In relief, more than 10,000 soldiers and local residents have joined.

Guo Bosiong Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission said, our first priority is to search the relief military helicopter and the people onboard by any means.

Guo said, the search team should ensure their own safety while doing the search work.

A blast took place in the parking lot of Danish Embassy in Islamabad (Pakistan). Near about 8 people were killed and 10 people are injured including policemen.

As latest report, police arrested one person regard to the blast. Over 2 dozen cars are totally wrecked.

Witness said it was the car bomb, left a crater about three feet deep on the road. Police covered all the area around the site of the blast. The blast also damage Danish Embassy and an NGO building close to the embassy also damage in the blast. Continue reading…

People of Iraq rally against US troop

Thousands of people heeded a call from anti-American cleric Moqtada al-Sadr to protest talks between Washington and Baghdad on keeping US troops in Iraq beyond 2008, but turnout on Friday was lower than past marches.

Its one of the largest demonstrations, several thousands of people are on streets in the Baghdad district of Sadr City and they held up pictures of Prime Minister dressed as Saddam Hussein

In the kadhimiya district in the northwest Baghdad, people marched behind a banner asking the UN to stand with the Iraqis people against this security deal between the government and the occupation.
