Republican John McCain states Democratic rival Barack Obama as amature on foreign policy, frail on national security and, now, lenient on terrorism.

Today, McCain — a unique presidential candidate in a political environment ruled by the nation’s economic grief— seemingly has a slight choice but to criticize Obama the similar way.

Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor and top McCain surrogate, ‘Democrats, led by Barack Obama want to return to a pre-September 11th view of terrorism.’

Obama blamed McCain of ‘fear-mongering’ and said he is also consistently using the Bush-Cheney political playbook that is based on fear.

McCain’s signature issues are national security, foreign policy and Republican strength. Obama, a first-term Illinois senator, is not a professional on such matters.

McCain, a four-term Arizona senator has a better opportunity to win if he can aim voters on national security. This year, voters exhilaratingly care more about bread-and-butter as gas prices rise and the housing market falls.

The country is approximately seven years escaped from the 2001 terrorist attacks, and Republicans face the challenge to ease the complicated issues of terrorism. The public has doubted as holes were thrust into everything from Bush’s verification for going to war with Iraq to his administration’s efforts to enlarge executive authority in the name of safeguarding the country.

Obama, 46 and a Senate rookie, would be the first black president whereas McCain, 71 and a Senate veteran, would be the country’s oldest first-term elected president.

McCain is struggling to change the talks by dominating Obama’s susceptibilities on foreign policy. Like Clinton, McCain has again blamed Obama for saying that he wanted to meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea.

The likely Republican nominee also saw opportunity when a counselor to the Islamic militant group Hamas said: “We like Obama and wish that he will win the election.” But McCain assured that they are not going to vote for him.
