TACA Airbus A-320 crash at Honduras airport

Rescue personnel said, Central America’s TACA airlines slid across a runway and onto a road as it tired to land in Tegucigalpa airport. He said, 5 people were killed and 65 were injured on Friday plane crash.
The plane was an Airbus A-320. 124 passengers plus crew was flying from Los Angeles-San Salvador-Tegucigalpa route. The plane skidded off the runway, crashed down a 20-meter (66-foot) embankment, plowed across a road and broke into three pieces, TACA officials said.
TACA manager Armando Funess could not give full figure about the passengers who are traveling, but he told to media that the plane was totally destroyed and all the passengers were being taken to hospital.
He said, 65 people were hospitalized Brazil’s ambassador to Tegucigalpa, Jose Roberto de Almeida Pinto. Many people suffered from smoke inhalation due to fire that ignited during the crash.
Honduras Industry and Commerce Minister Norman Garcia said poor visibility could have contributed to the crash. They said, it was a difficult landing due to clouds at Toncontin airport.
