26 killed in bombing attacks in Baghdad: Police

Police said, 3 suicide bombers and a roadside bomb struck Shiite pilgrims taking part in a massive religious procession in Baghdad. Near around 26 were killed and 85 wounded.
The attacks occurred in quick succession as tens of thousands of Shiite worshippers streamed toward a shrine in northern Baghdad for an annual event marking the death of an eighth century saint
Police said that bombers were women. The attacks took place in the mainly Shiite Karradah district, which is several miles away from the site of the pilgrimage in Kazimiyah, northern Baghdad.

A female Suicide bomber kills at least 8 US-allied fighters in Iraq

Police said, a female suicide bomber blew herself up as she approached US-allied Sunni fighters walking in a crowded area north of Baghdad. Near Around 8 members of the group and wounding 24 other people.
The woman, who was shrouded in a traditional black Islamic robe, detonated her explosives belt at about 8:30 pm (local time) as she approached the group of awakening council guards in the central New Baqouba area, a police officer said.
The US military in northern Iraq said troops were investigating the bombing and it could not immediately confirm the attacker was a woman.

18 people dead in Baghdad Blast

A packed truck with rockets blew up near the home of a police general in Baghdad. As per repots 18 people dead and many injured.
A US military spokesman said, it was an accident that occurred as Shiite militiamen were transporting the weapons through densely populated area of northern Baghdad.
Police said. It’s was a suicide truck bomber had targeted the Iraqi police general. Police said seven people were wounded, including the general’s elderly parents.
