Obama, Hillary to campaign together on Friday

Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton plan to campaign together Friday. Their first joint appearance meant to ease tensions over the closely fought Democratic primary.

The location is New Hampshire town of Unity announced Monday, was chosen not only for the symbolism of its name, but because each candidate received exactly 107 votes. New Hampshire is a critical battleground state in the November election.
Republican John McCain won the state’s primary in his unsuccessful 2000 presidential bid and prevailed again this year.

Clinton-Obama battle makes its way to Fla.

clinton_obama_delegate_count.jpgBarack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton took their fight for the Democratic presidential nomination to Florida on Wednesday, each with a different purpose as they assured abandoned voters of their significance.

For Obama, the launch of his three-day swing throughout the state as he closes in on the nomination marked the first time he has stumped in Florida as signing a vow nine months ago not to campaign here for the Jan. 29 primary. Florida and Michigan were stripped of their convention delegates for violating national party rules on primary scheduling.

Obama accuses McCain of `losing his bearings`

obama.jpgDemocratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday that Republican John McCain was “losing his bearings” for repeatedly suggesting the Islamic terrorist group Hamas preferred Obama for president.That brought an angry response from McCain’s campaign, which accused Obama of trying to make an issue of McCain’s age.Age is a touchy subject for McCain, who turns 72 in August and would be the oldest person to be sworn in as president if elected.
