Half the world will be obese by 2030

A group of researchers at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine predict that by 2030, almost 58% of the world’s population will be overweight or obese.
A doctoral candidate at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Kelly claims that almost one-third of the world is already considered overweight or obese.
In this, the researchers employed 72 national, 22 multi-site and 14 regional studies from 106 countries, covering approximately 88% of the world’s population.

Switch off the TV to stay slim: Study

Everybody knows what too much television can do to the mind and what too little exercise can do to the body, but a Canadian study has now shown that the boob tube can also lead to an increase in how much we eat.
As per latest study by University of Toronto nutritionist Harvey Anderson found that kids who watched TV while eating lunch took in 228 extra calories than those who ate without the television on.
The Canadian Institutes for Health Research said, “One of Anderson’s conclusions is that eating while watching television overrides our ability to know when to stop eating,”

Eat a healthy breakfast ‘to shed weight’

Healthy breakfast everyday and the bigger the bowl, the better the result, say a new study.
As per researchers, women who eat around half of their daily calories in the morning lose more weight in the long term as compared to those who start their day with just a small breakfast.
What’s more is that good breakfasters are less likely to pile the pounds back on, the study found.
